The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology (MBIT) was established under the Kaduna State Ministries Restructuring Legal Notice No. 1 of 2019.
It was created through the merger of the former Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism with the Science and Technology functions of the previous Ministry of Education. This consolidation reflects Kaduna State’s vision of aligning business growth, digital innovation, and human capital development under one strategic institution.
As the central policy and implementation body for business development, industrialisation, digital transformation, and tourism promotion, MBIT is committed to:
Driving sustainable economic growth through enterprise support and private sector partnerships.
Fostering skills development and innovation to prepare citizens for a competitive, technology-driven economy.
Promoting tourism and creative industries, positioning Kaduna as a hub for culture and investment.
Advancing digital inclusion and ICT adoption, ensuring Kaduna remains at the forefront of Nigeria’s digital transformation.
By combining business policy, innovation, and technology under one framework, MBIT creates a conducive environment for businesses to thrive while empowering citizens with practical education, enterprise support, and new opportunities for self-reliance.
To promote the development and expansion of entrepreneurship, business, technology, innovation, and tourism in Kaduna State.
