Completion of 3 Skill Cities

MBIT completed the construction of three Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition Cities at Rigachikun, Soba, and Samaru Kataf, covering all senatorial districts of Kaduna State. These centres are designed to train 24,000 young people annually by 2026 in trades ranging from welding and carpentry to AI and digital skills. The initiative is a cornerstone of Kaduna’s human capital development strategy, equipping youths with practical skills for self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and global competitiveness.

NBAN Excellence Award for Broadband Penetration (2025)

Kaduna State, through MBIT’s ICT reforms, received the NBAN Excellence Award in 2025 for its outstanding progress in broadband penetration and digital connectivity.

  • Recognised as one of the fastest-growing digital economies in Nigeria.

  • The award reflects MBIT’s commitment to expanding internet access, ICT infrastructure, and digital inclusion across the state.

  • This milestone strengthens Kaduna’s position as a hub for technology-driven governance, business, and innovation.

KAFART Festival & Kaduna Countdown

MBIT has boosted Kaduna’s cultural and creative economy through signature events such as the KAFART Festival and the Kaduna Countdown.

  • Together, these events attracted over 85,000 visitors from within Nigeria and abroad.

  • They provided a platform for art, music, food, fashion, and tourism, showcasing Kaduna as a vibrant cultural destination.

  • The festivals created opportunities for local businesses, SMEs, and creatives, generating jobs and strengthening the state’s hospitality and tourism sector.
